Description:

F.O.D (Friends of Dorothy) was a lifestyle, culture and social magazine for men in Tel Aviv in general, and for gay men specifically. The magazine was published during 2012-2013 and pioneered marketing advertising space for leading companies in Israel, which were reluctant at the time to target the LGBTQ community in the media, which ultimately led to its discontinuation.

The magazine was the first form of LGBTQ media which was distributed and sold in leading bookstores and retailers nationwide.

F.O.D was founded by Eli Gaiger, Sigal Ramati & Shai Doitsh, with the vision to strengthen the economic power of the LGBTQ community and create a political power through pink economy. The publisher, ‘David and Jonathan’, acted also as an advertiser for the LGBTQ community and facilitated other factors in creation of marketing channels for the community.

Through its content and quality, the magazine reached the level of top magazines in the global LGBTQ media, such as Winq, Mate, Tetu and others, cooperated with them and served local as well as global relevant content for the Tel Avivian gay man.

The magazine dealt with different subjects of interest revolving around the daily life of Tel Avivian gay men through five main channels: Fashion, Sport and Health, Culture, Tourism and Love-life. F.O/D contains articles, interviews, op-eds and exclusive local fashion productions created by the best Israeli writers, photographers, designers, artists and creators.
