תקציר מוויקיפדיה:
תסמונת פיקה (באנגלית: Pica Syndrome) היא הפרעת אכילה הגורמת לאכילה חוזרת ונשנית של חומרים שאינם ראויים למאכל, כגון עפר, קרח, שיער, פחם, לכלוך, נייר, חול, עובש ועוד. התסמונת נחשבת לתסמונת של גיל הילדות, אך יכולה (בעיקר כשאינה מטופלת בילדות) להופיע גם כמצב כרוני בגיל הבגרות. שמה של התסמונת מגיע מהמילה "Pica" – שמה הלטיני של ציפור העקעק, שהיא אוכלת כל. אין לבלבל תסמונת זו עם המחלה הנוירולוגית הנקראת מחלת נימן-פיק.
