Vladislav Vančura (Czech: [ˈvlaɟɪslaf ˈvantʃura]; 23 June 1891 – 1 June 1942) was a Czech writer. He was also active as a film director, playwright and screenwriter. A member of the Czech resistance during WWII, he was captured and murdered by the Nazis.
