Douglas Laidlaw Cairns (born 1961) is a British classicist, Professor of Classics at the University of Edinburgh, former Chair of the Classical Association, and the current Chair of the Edinburgh University Press. He specialises in the study of Greek society, ethics, literature, emotional life, and the ways in which these are reflected in Greek epic, tragedy, and lyric poetry.
