Monroe Charter Township is a charter township of Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 14,391. The township is bordered by the city of Monroe to the north, but the two are administered autonomously. The township was organized in 1827 and named after James Monroe, the fifth president of the United States.
