In 1942-44, a group of boys living in Home No. 1 of the school building L417 in the Theresienstadt ghetto (nicknamed by them "The Republic of Shkid") published a clandestine handwritten magazine, "Vedem". Presents a selection of materials from this magazine: poems, stories, drawings, accounts on cultural life in the ghetto, as well as on outstanding figures in Central European culture - inmates of the ghetto and participants in the publication. Includes comments and reminiscences by the few survivors who worked on the magazine. Pp. 192-193 contain a list of boys who lived in Home No. 1.
