	מילות השיר מתוך תפילת "אהבה רבה", הנאמרת לפני קריאת שמע של תפילת שחרית. השיר בוצע לראשון בפסטיבל הזמר החסידי בשנת 1969 על ידי השלושרים וזכה במקום השלישי, שלמה קרליבך עצמו אהב גם הוא את השיר וכלל אותו לראשונה בתקליטו 'והאר עינינו' שיצא בשנת 1970. השיר זכה לפופולריות רבה בקרב עם ישראל בארץ ובתפוצות, ומושר גם בהקפות של שמחת תורה. הלחן התגלגל גם לרוסיה והותאם לשיר הרוסי "נולדתי על הגבול" (Я родился на границе) מאת רודולף פוקס, בביצוע הזמר ארקדי סוורני.
