| השיר נכתב במקור להצגה "ים ובית" שהועלתה ב-1953 בתאטרון הקאמרי ועסקה בקבוצת דייגים. ההצגה לא זכתה להצלחה וירדה די מהר מן הבמה, אבל השיר מתוכה בוצע והוקלט ב-1961 על ידי להקת התרנגולים בתכניתם הראשונה וכך זכה לחיי נצח בזמר העברי. |
