  • באחד ממפגשיה עם ילדים סיפרה נעמי: "חושבים שהשיר הזה הוא על ירושלים, אבל הוא על העיר וילנה שנקראה בעבר ירושלים דליטא בזכות הקהילה היהודית המפוארת שחייתה בה." בשנת 1935 לקחה רבקה ספיר יתנו מביתה בת החמש לוילנה, לביקור אצל בני המשפחה. נעמי הקטנה מעמק הירדן נחשפה לחורף האירופי ולחיים השלווים של יהודי העיר, שמימשו את געגועים לארץ ישראל השמשית באכילת 'פירות חמישה-עשר, בט"ו בשבט - תמרים ותאנים, שקדים וצימוקים, שהביאו איתם את ניחוח ארצות החום. כעבור ארבע שנים פרצה מלחמת העולם השניה. תוך שנתיים-שלוש הפכה הקהילה היהודית בוילנה לעפר. נעמי נותרה עם זיכרונות העיר המושלגת [מתוך הספר "הכל פתוח"]. השיר "פרות חמישה עשר" או בשמו הנוסף "שלג על עירי" נכלל בין שירי ההצגה "מסעות בנימין השלישי" משנת 1976 שנכתבה על-פי סיפורו של מנדלי מוכר ספרים ומתארת את נסיונו של בנימין להגיע לארץ ישראל. לחן השיר נכתב עשר שנים קודם לכן והותאם בראשונה למילות השיר "זמר נוגה" של רחל, אולם לא התפרסם.
