| The Hebrew Union College Biblical and Archaeological School in Jerusalem is an American post-doctoral research center in the fields of Bible, Biblical and post-Biblical archaeology, and related Near Eastern studies. At the same time this fourth campus of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion serves as a base for the rabbinic students from the Schools in Cincinnati, New York and California who spend a year of study in Israel. At the Jerusalem School worship services are con-ducted on the Sabbath and Holy Days in the School Chapel, the William Murstein Synagogue. The Liturgical Music in this recording is from the Sabbath morning service, :Dr. Nelson Glueck, President of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, is the permanent Director of the Jerusalem School. Dr. Paul M. Steinbergis the Executive Dean of the Jerusalem School. The activities in the Synagogue have been directed by Professor Jakob J. Petuchowski and Professor Herbert Chanan Brichto, who have served as rabbis of the Synagogue. Cantor Avraham Alkai serves as the cantor. The choir is directed by Gladys Gewirtz Hedaya. |
