Son of member of Polish parliament. At outbreak of war, 1939, left Warsaw for Russia. Arrived Moscow, 1941. Taken on as employee in Polish embassy in Moscow. Moved eastward with embassy as it was moved. Discusses: how positive relations with ambassador, clergy and military officials put him in a position to assist Polish refugees in USSR; help gave refugees; contacting Jewish world outside of Russia; evacuating Jewish refugees; transfer of funds; supplying refugees with visas for neutral countries; moving orphans out of Russia. When diplomatic relations were cut off between Poland and Russia went to parents in Jerusalem for two months. Went to USA as Polish diplomat, 1943. Later worked in PR for Polish embassy in London. Returned to USA 1945.
