Ebreo, un bersaglio senza fine

Enlarge text Shrink text

Presents, in small pocketbook format, a brief account of the history of antisemitism, focusing on Italy in the 19th-20th centuries. Stresses the role played by the Italian Catholic Church in spreading antisemitic propaganda, which provided a broad base for popular support of fascist antisemitism. The Church saw fascism as a guarantee against communism, which was considered an expression of the Jewish international conspiracy against Christianity. Condemns Pius XII for not opposing the Racial Laws, and later for doing nothing to avoid the deportation of Roman Jews by the Nazis. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism - The Hebrew University of Jerusalem)
