On the right a bearded man in a black suit and yarmulke sits in a red armchair and reads a book that lays on a small table. Above him is a vine with grapes on it. On the left a similar man reads a newspaper he holds in his hands. Above him is a fig tree with figs on it. Between the men appears a scenery with houses, trees, mountains and a blue sky. Among the trees a date palm and an olive tree can be recognized, perhaps suggesting the seven species(שבעת המינים) or that the scene itself is set in the promised land.
