In the left one there is a Magen David (the Shield of David) and a scroll on which the initials of the Jewish Hospitality Committee (JHC) are written. In the right one there is an open book on a stand and a Shofar (a ram's horn). Below the gate appears a greeting for the New Year in Hebrew and English. Through the gate we can see the inside of a synagogue, facing the Aron Hakodesh (the Ark). The elevated Ark by three steps covered with a carpet is open and we can see five Torah Scrolls placed within. Above the opened Parochet (curtain dividing between the Ark and the open space) is the inscription 'I have set the LORD always before me' [Psalms 16:8]. In front of the Ark there is a hanged lamp.
