Text on the Back - Christie's AmsterdamFine Judaica Sale on Thursday 15 December 1988 at 10:30 a.m. including:A highly important and exceptionally rare Permanent Collapsible Wooden Sukkah painted with different scenes on each of the four sides, Austria, 18th Century, height 220 cm., lengh 270 cm., width 270 cm. One of the most exciting examples of Jewish folk art ever to appear on the open market (illustrated on the revese).The only recorded Judaeo-Arabic Astrolabe. brass, Spain or North-Africa, circa 1300, diam. 184 mm., thickness of mater 11 mm. All the technical terms, numerals and inscriptions are engraved in Hebrew characters. This Astrolabe, of the greastest interest and rarity, was researched by Mr. Francis Maddison from the Museum of the History of Science, Oxford.
