Hungarian Prime Minister Jozsef Antall, who is here on an official three day visit, has been having meetings with leading Israeli politicians as well as President Chaim Herzog. Several new agreements were signed by the two countries, including a cooperation agreement on taxation and investment. These broadening of bilateral ties follow the rapid liberalization of Hungary following the overthrow of the communist dictatorship. Concern was expressed by Israel of pockets of anti-Semitism that still exists in Hungary. Entail reassured the Israeli government that the Hungarian government was doing all it could to combat anti-Semitism. At a moving ceremony at Yad Vashem (Holacaust Memorial in Jerusalem Antall received a Righteous Among the Nations medal and citation on behalf of his late father Dr. Jozsef Antall. The citation is to recognize and honour the late Dr.Antall for the many Jewish lives he saved during the Second World War by issuing false papers to Polish Jews so they could escape certain death at the hand of the Nazis.
