היפ-הופ (מאנגלית: Hip-hop), או לחלופין ראפ (מאנגלית: Rap), הוא ז'אנר מוזיקלי המשתייך למוזיקה השחורה. ז'אנר זה התפתח בדרום ברונקס שבניו יורק במהלך שנות ה-70 מתוך תרבות ההיפ הופ ומהווה את אחד מיסודותיה. מוזיקת היפ הופ מורכבת מארבעה מאפיינים מוזיקליים עיקריים: ראפינג, סקראצ'ינג / די ג'ייאינג, ביטבוקס וסמפלינג (דגימה מוזיקלית). כלים אופייניים הם סינתיסייזר, סמפלר ומכונת תופים. בנוסף לסגנון המוזיקלי המושג "היפ הופ" מקיף קשת תרבותית רחבה יותר מאשר הסגנון המוזיקלי עצמו. המושג "ראפ" מתאר את פעולת הראפינג (הדיבור הקצבי) שמאפיין את רוב סגנונות ההיפ הופ, והוא לעיתים משתמש כמילה נרדפת למוזיקת היפ הופ. נהוג לחלק את מוזיקת ההיפ הופ לשתי אסכולות לפי זמנים. אולד-סקול היפ הופ מתאר סגנונות ואמנים שהתפתחו בין השנים 1979–1984. מקובל לציין את סיומו עם פריצתה של הלהקה Run DMC שהייתה הלהקה הראשונה שהשתייכה לניו-סקול היפ הופ יחד עם אל אל קול ג'יי. הניו-סקול היפ הופ מתאפיין בשימוש נרחב יותר במכונת תופים ולעיתים באלמנטים של מוזיקת רוק או מוזיקה אלקטרונית.
